Greener Grass

GreenerGrassGreen is perhaps the most complex color. Our eyes can distinguish more shades of green than that of any other color. Why are we so sensitive to green?

But I digress. My intent when I started this blog was to understand why envy is green. Mostly because I feel envious when I think about my relatives in Canada. They are by far the most successful branch of our family tree. Both in wealth and relationships and members added.

Yes I am green with envy over the wonderful lives they have. No doubt they can tell tales about how they struggled from the comfort of their large homes. However I do admire them and sorely miss all the family get-togethers; being unable to attend due to lack of funds and the considerable distance.

Earlier in my life I had more green money than I knew what to do with. I frequently went to visit them and marvel at Canada. A country so similar and at the same time different from our USA. Everywhere I went I was greeted by clean; spectacular views; friendly people; almost a trip to our own past where prosperity was default. In fact the most striking difference between Canada and the USA can be seen at Niagara Falls where the US side is a dirty, filthy, garbage ridden area and the Canadian side is like being in Disneyland! While all of the USA is not a ghetto, but all of Canada I have been to is really great!

Today is October 1st and nearly Halloween. My thoughts are in turmoil. There are so many competing for my attention. A lot has happened in the past few days. But before I get to any of that I need to take a bit more time to contemplate how to turn our own grass colours into a greener grass.
