The transfer process was started by 1&1 and is automated, but for their benifit and not their customers, so it needs to be completed interactively (by the customer). I logged on to account and administered between the two packages until the one saying “waiting for acknowledge” was satisfied that it was OK to be moved.
When one package has only one domain and the other two then the process should be complete and the Linux package can be cancelled. I am still waiting for that to happen.
Just another 2 1/2 hours of my life doing something that 1&1 should have totally done on its own. Yet another example of people needing to go through the same idiot process, where if it were a folder, it could have been easily dragged and droped to new location. Then I could have walked away from the computer while it did whatever it needed to do.
